Diabetic Footcare

Diabetes can affect the feet. If you suffer from Diabetes you may experience poor circulation and lack of sensation. Even the smallest injury can lead to infection, which if not treated promptly may lead to serious complications. It is extremely important that you or a family member check your feet daily.

Any break in the skin?

Any oozing, fluid or discharge?

Any change in colour or temperature?

Any swelling or new pain?

Diabetes foot screening is an important part of your Diabetes care. The foot screening process checks for any signs or symptoms of changes to your feet, as a result of your Diabetes, that could increase your risk of developing a foot ulcer that could lead to amputation.
At HOMEFOOTCARE Services we offer Diabetic foot screening as part of your treatment. There is no extra charge for this service.
Following your foot screening you will be informed of your risk category and what action you should take to help keep your feet safe.
Diabetic foot screening should be repeated every 1-2 years
